I hate people. The general public can kiss my @$$
I don’t suggest anyone actually read this. I think it would be very therapeutic for me to type this out before I explode. I am going to go on a long walk when I’m done. Hopefully I can regain some sanity after that. I am trying to see the good things in life but this crap is hiding all of them from me. So here it goes.
Here’s what is going on the past couple days. I’ll start with the small things. Someone keeps parking in front of our garage in the middle of the night. He/she is gone by 7 am and isn’t there when I checked at midnight last night either. I’m not fond of supplying bootie call parking but what really pisses me off is the oil slick his car leaves on our property! And why can’t I find a no parking sign? I see them everywhere, where are these people buying them? We had a few before but the damn taggers "got artistic" all over them so I had to throw them out.
Second thing, I have restarted my ebay vintage clothing business. It’s been moderately successful until the last couple weeks. NO ONE IS PAYING ME! I’ve got 16 outstanding invoices from last week alone. I still have the merchandise so it’s not like I’m completely out the money but no one seems to realize when they bid they actually have to pay. Then comes this week, very few hits, even fewer bids, everyone is apparently at the beach or something. All that is frustrating but nothing new since ebay definitely has a cycle and this is always a slow time. BUT added to that, there have been a few sellers who have been getting ridiculous prices for their clothing. Slowly, one by one, ebay is suspending them for shill bidding there own auctions to drive up the prices. They are only getting suspended for a couple weeks though. This is totally illegal, not just ebay policy. So what do they do when they come back to ebay? They start shilling again. Ebay slaps them on the wrist then lets them do it again because hey… ebay is profiting off it too. It makes all of us vintage clothing sellers look like criminals. That’s not right. I just want to make an honest buck selling something I think is beautiful or what would be considered "hot" right now.
Third thing, I am battling UPS again. I bought a very expensive knitting machine from someone. I was so looking forward to receiving it because this one will be a great production machine unlike the more home sewer machine I have now. She had it packed up by the UPS store (not actually UPS-this is very important to know because as soon as there is a problem UPS & the UPS store begin to blame it on the other). The motor and a couple other parts where destroyed in shipment & can not be purchased anymore. Here is where it gets ugly.
-The motor would not have broken had the lady who sent it reinstalled the TRANSPORT screws. Their function is even in their name, I can’t understand how she forgot to do this. The motor is what broke off and smashed the other bits.
-The UPS store did not pack it to UPS specifications, there was 1” of Styrofoam padding protecting the motor at the bottom of a 100lb box. That’s not much protection. UPS expects there to be at least 3” for something that weights less than that.
-The UPS store randomly divided the insurance amounts over the 3 boxes yet packed the 3 main components of the machine in one box. So now my claim is for $2000, rather than $6000 as was clearly decided on by me and the woman I bought it from.
-The owner/manager of the UPS store is refusing to speak to me, he wants me to fax him all correspondence. I have only spoken to him once. He was described to me as cantankerous by the woman who sold the machine so I was expecting a bit of trouble, not this much. Yesterday I tried to call him up but only got as far as a clerk. The clerk who is a terrible liar says “he isn’t available right now…oh… ah… I mean he isn’t here right now…yeah.” I said alright, I need him to call me back because we have a very big problem, the parts cannot be ordered. She says he’s gone and tomorrow is his day off and he likes to “relax and stuff on his day off” so he will call me when he can. I am now deeply suspicious and get more stern with her. I told her if he is the owner I’m sure he will make an exception since he just may have to come up with $6000 due to his negligence. According to the woman who I purchase the machine from, he has been “oddly unavailable this past week so I felt I needed to get a little bossy/bitchy…whatever you want to call it. It semi-worked, he had this clerk call me back (chock full of attitude) to tell me to fax him the info, I said there is no info, the parts can’t be purchased, I need to SPEAK to him. She then went back to saying she hasn’t spoken with him…wah? Blah blah blah, she keeps telling me it’s been a “hard day at the UPS store” and she’s off in 2 minutes. So I said, I’m sure you have had a hard day at the UPS store but…..she bursts in with DON’T YOU JUDGE ME for working at the UPS store! And just starts freaking out screaming at me. I totally admit I was being stern with her, but rightfully so, she was very poorly trying to blow me off. I eventually just hung up on her because she wouldn’t stop screaming. She must have had steam coming out of her ears, she had totally lost control of herself. I find out this morning that she is considered a bit “slow” in their town. The thing is, I wasn’t trying to “judge” her at all, I was only repeating what she kept saying to try to get her on my side. Psycho…
NEVER USE UPS! EVER! I originally asked for her to use a trucking company, she insisted on UPS. I am now officially a control freak, I want it my way from now on! If it were done my way, I wouldn’t be dealing with others passing the blame around yet I’m still stuck with a screwed up machine.
Finally, Paypal’s “buyer protections” is a bunch of whooey. They said they will make an “attempt to reclaim my money” if I file a complaint but can’t guarantee it. Without saying it specifically, the woman at paypal basically alluded to the fact that I was screwed.
So what now? A lawsuit? $%&^#*…fabulous
Just one more small thing. I am currently listening to the sound of cans being crushed by my neighbor. This happens ever Thursday. This dude wanders around on trash day to steal all the cans out of the recycling bins then takes them home. That's the cities damn money Mr. Thieving Neighbor! So we have the politicians stealing from us & now my neighbor too.
Alright, I am feeling a bit better now. Thank dog for blogs : )
Argh, speaking of the almighty…
Linus just ran inside very disturbed with a bee attached to his side. He still can’t get a break either. Great
I need some good news soon.
