Elvis & Obsession

Elvis loves Don, Linus & me without a doubt. BUT he is obsessed with his purple squeaky. It is very rare that Elvis & squeaky are far apart. I have a camera here at my desk so while I'm working during the day I can easily take snap shots of the dogs without much effort. His days are filled with naps and play time. I want to be dog.

If you can help…Please do

I know you have probably been swamped with requests to help Hurricane Katrina victims so I will keep this short, but please help out here if you can. The non-humans need help too.

Not a peep

Today was the first day I recorded Elvis while I was at work. He didn't bark, not even once. I did hear him wake up, stretch out & flap his little ears around once. It was very cute. I'm going to try again next time I leave them alone but I honestly don't think he's the one barking around here.

Quote from Elvis "Zis dog nex dur hates mi. I tink cuz im beutiful und he is not. Zoon I vil eat da gras den vomit it up. I vil feed it to him as german veinerdog sauerkraut. He is a sun uf a bitch, but arnt ve all?"

Greeaaaattt. I was talking to my neighbors this afternoon (the nice neighbors). They said Elvis has been barking a lot in the afternoons lately. But then they said it might also be the other neighbors new terrier (the neighbors we hate). It’s tough to figure out what to do. It’s quite possible that it is Elvis except that I only left the dogs alone two afternoons last week & only two the week before. The rest of the week I was either working from home or I took both Linus & Elvis with me. I know he isn’t barking when I am around. If it were any other neighbor I would say, “yeah so?” Each and every other neighbor makes a buttload of noise. Whether it be a neglected dog barking all day, a screeching parrot that sounds like someone is killing a baby, loud music, or drunken screaming hot tub escapades. But these guys are great and are the only other respectful people in the neighborhood. I think it’s the other neighbor’s dog they are hearing but I can’t be sure as of right now.

BUT never fear I have a plan. I downloaded a program that will record the noise in the room when I’m gone. I may set up a webcam too but I don’t think it is necessary and the dogs would probably be out of camera site most of the time anyway.

Breaking out the fleet - the Porsche, the Lambretta & the Huffy

The price of gas is insane right now. I was going to stop off on my way home from dinner and fill up. I expected it to be high but the price of gas has gone up $1 a gallon in just a couple days. It’s ridiculous & instead of stopping I just drove by and decided I would drive the Porsche tomorrow. With all the leaps and bounds our society has made over the last 30 years you would think that a 1999 Toyota would get far better gas mileage than a 1968 Porsche. But…sadly, you would be wrong. For those of you who are “in the know” as far as the engine modifications in the Porsche, yes the gas mileage stayed pretty much the same.

So tomorrows errands will be made in my little tangerine chariot. I love that car, since I don’t drive it all that often it’s even more of a joy when I do. One of those errands will be to stop off at the bicycle shop to pick up the little screw thingys that hold the front tire of my bicycle on (I still can’t figure out where they went). Oh, and a basket too.

Once my bicycle is back on the road, I’m going to ride it to the scooter shop. Because the Lambretta is going back on the road!!! If I remember correctly, she gets about 75 miles per gallon if not more. AND the Lambretta is 45 years old! I busted the valve stem on the front tire when I tried to use one of those cheapy auto toolkit air pumps. What a bummer. I think she’s gonna need a once over by a mechanic. But I should be able to ride her there.

Soccer Moms

I have yet another ding on my car from one of the many fooking soccer moms parking their gigantic SUVs next to my car at work. They all drag their little brat out, slamming their damn doors into other peoples cars. Soccer Moms - What the fuck is wrong with you! You have 1, count em, ONE kid! You don't need a 10 passenger vehicle! At least once a day, one of you almost kills me on the road but doesn't notice because you are too busy talking on your phone. Bitches!!! I can't take it anymore, violence is the only answer now, I'm "KEEP'N IT REAL" Chappelle style!

Just kidding. Actually I'm going to talk to the property manager to see if I can mark a set of spots just for us. Someone else did, seemed to work for them.
But Evil Angie, who lives in the back of my head, is already concocting a plan to deal with them. She's only giving me hints right now. Something about projectile swedish fish & hummus.
